K - 12
Education is important to the local leadership in Crook County. There is a strong K-12 public school system through the Crook County School District. The District has eight schools with approximately 3,200 students: one high school (906 students); one alternative high school and other alternative programs (77 students); one middle school (710 students); three in-town elementary schools (394 students, 405 students, and 540 students); and two rural elementary schools (32 students and 137 students). The district employees 175 teachers and 182 support staff. In the last decade, the community has made important investments in infrastructure, including the construction of a modern, two-story, contemporary-styled high school, and a new county library.
